American Indian Health and Family Services in Detroit seeking EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

Urban Indian Health Agency seeking an Executive Director with Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience in the development and management of funds, personnel, and programs. Experience with Native American cultures is desired. American Indian Health and Family Services is a non-profit health center serving the Native American community of Southeastern Michigan. The primary focus of AIHFS is based on a clinical prevention model that provides our clients with an experience in health promotion, wellness and individual responsibility. The center provides medical and dental referral services, nutritional counseling, substance abuse counseling, mental health counseling, HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, youth programs, health promotion and environmental health education. We also provide health education and screenings at various sites, including Native American gatherings, powwows, conferences, classrooms, health fairs and in the general public.

The mission of American Indian Health and Family Services of Southeastern Michigan, Inc. - Minobinmaadziwin is to help ensure the survival of Native American families and individuals by providing quality health care, by supporting the healing process, by encouraging, educating and empowering our clients in seeking and maintaining wellness and enhancing their quality of life, and by facilitating the equity and accessibility of comprehensive health care for the Native American community.

Four openings at the Native American Rehabilitation Association:

Health Director
The Health Director is responsible for the health care delivery, prevention/promotion activities and staff supervision at the Indian Health Clinic and satellite sites.  Responsible for assuring that all health care services are in compliance with funding source requirements and county, state, and federal regulations.  Acts as the liaison between the Indian Health Clinic, other NARA programs, the Portland American Indian/Alaska Native community, and local, county and state agencies.

Project Director - Suicide Prevention
The Project Director will work with each site to develop, facilitate implementation, and manage the No More Fallen Feathers grant program.  The responsibilities focus on developing and maintaining close relationships with tribal and PSU representatives, consulting with them on program activities, supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the program staff and the management of grants and its objectives.

Director of Development Position Open at Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley:

Position Summary:  This is a senior management, full-time, exempt position, that has overall responsibility for grant writing and grant management, fundraising activities, and public relations.  Responsible for developing new funding sources and building relationships with supporters.  Develops and implements annual fundraising plan and strategies in conjunction with the Executive Director and the Board. Develops and coordinates media and marketing plans and oversees agency-wide promotion efforts.  Oversees grant and contract activities, researching and writing grants, grant management, and contract reapplications.  Acts as a liaison between the health center and funding sources.  Build relationships with the local Indian community, local American Indian agencies, and other community-based organizations to further the agency’s mission.
